In a group living environment, and in a manner that will maintain and respect the spirit, dignity and individuality of others, assists clients with mental illness to live successfully in the community by developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships to meet individual needs and situational requirements. The position provides a variety of day-to-day physical, emotional, and social supports, advocacy, life skills assistance, information, resources and demonstrations utilizing the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation.
We are looking for the following education, training and experience:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Mental Health Worker Certificate from a recognized college/university in social/behavioral science.
- Food Hygiene Certificate/Community Care Food Handlers Certificate
- Two years related experience
- Emergency Firs Aid Certificate/C.P.R. Certificate
- Current Driver’s License
- Medical Certification of capability of carrying out assigned duties
- Compliance with the TB immunization program of the Ministry of Health
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspond proficiently.
- Ability to apply common sense, understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
All employment is subject to a satisfactory result from a TB skin test, as well as a criminal record check. Employment in Licensed homes will also require a medical certification of capability of carrying out assigned duties.
